Two news items made me giggle this morning:
1. Drunk Texas dad asks 11-year-old son to drive – any bets on how long before the ex-wife takes this guy back to court?
2. Attack carp – Perhaps inspired by recent “preventative measures” in the international news, carp in the lower Missouri River are leaping out of the water when they see a boat coming. And they’re not trying to jump out of the way.
If these are the kinds of stories that tickle your fancy, might I recommend http://www.fark.com? If you can stomach the juvenile male tone of the place, it carries all the best stories like the two you posted. One warning: Never, ever, read a comment thread at this place. It’ll make your head explode.
That drunk dad story sounds like the kind of thing that must happen a lot. I wonder if it’s better or worse than what my dad used to do, which was drive us all around totally drunk, with one eye closed to try to focus?
My grandfather once found out there was a police car stationed along the route home from the pub – so he took the longer, circuitous route instead. Note he did not stop drinking.
