Something up with Which I Will Not Put

For some reason, this morning my brain is mostly devoted to remembering (fondly) Sergeant Renfrew and his faithful dog, Cuddles.
We worked with Sgt.Renfrew (aka: Dave Broadfoot) at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival in 2002. He was 76 at the time and still performing live comedy! I can only hope that I’ll be able to manage that when I’m his age. However, the fact that Air Farce finally got their TV break AFTER he retired is not at all comforting to me.
So, Paul and Bernard are just waiting for you to shuffle off this mortal coil before they make it big?
Well, no. Just retire. Although that thought’s even less comforting.
Mr. Broadfoot was a neighbor of ours when we lived on Burton avenue. He wasn’t nearly as funny when you passed him on the street, even if you were stoned.
In fact the same thing could be said of Aislin, another neighbor at the time whose yappy little dog once bit my ankle.
